LocalRoots Directory is a locally focused online business directory serving the Sauk Valley and surrounding communities. Businesses may add a free listing or upgrade to paid subscription tiers that offer increased visibility, features, and promotional options.

2. Using the Website
By accessing LocalRoots Directory, you agree to:
- Use the site for lawful purposes
- Provide accurate and truthful information
- Not attempt to disrupt or misuse the website

We reserve the right to update, remove, or correct any listing that violates our guidelines or contains inaccurate or misleading information.

4. Subscription Plans & Paid Listings
LocalRoots offers several paid tiers with additional visibility and features. When you purchase a subscription, you agree to the pricing, terms, and billing schedule shown at checkout.
4.1 Billing Cycle
Subscriptions renew automatically every 12 months unless cancelled before the renewal date.
4.2 Auto-Renewal
By purchasing a subscription, you authorize us (and our payment processor, Stripe) to automatically charge your payment method at each renewal period.

You can update your payment details anytime from your account page:

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not refund past payments. Your listing will remain active until the end of the current billing period.
4.5 Refund Policy
Because enhanced listings are delivered immediately, all subscription payments are non-refundable unless required by law.
5. Free Listings
Free listings are available to all eligible local businesses. LocalRoots Directory may:
- Limit features included in free listings
- Remove duplicate or inactive listings
- Delete listings for businesses that cannot be verified
6. Account Creation
Creating an account gives you access to your listings, subscription details, billing history, and listing management.
You are responsible for keeping your login information secure. We are not responsible for unauthorized access caused by weak passwords or shared accounts.
7. Changes to Service
We may update or improve the LocalRoots platform over time, including:
- Adding or adjusting features
- Updating subscription benefits
- Improving search and visibility tools
- Changing design or layout
- Adjusting pricing with proper notice
8. Liability & Disclaimer
LocalRoots Directory provides listing services only. We do not guarantee:
- The performance or quality of listed businesses
- The accuracy of information submitted by third parties
- That a listing will generate traffic, customers, or revenue
We are not liable for business losses, decisions based on directory information, or website downtime beyond our control.
9. Intellectual Property
All LocalRoots branding, design, layout, images, graphics, and site content are owned by LocalRoots Directory and may not be copied or reused without permission.
Businesses retain ownership of logos, descriptions, and images they upload.
