Your business listing on LocalRoots helps local customers find you faster — and keeping it up to date ensures your community always has the right information. Whether you need to adjust your hours, add new photos, or update your contact info, here’s how to claim and update your LocalRoots listing.
Step 1: Create an Account
Start by creating a free account on LocalRootsDirectory.com.
Click Login / Register in the top-right corner and follow the prompts to set up your account.
Once you’re logged in, you’ll be able to claim your existing business listing or add a new one.
💡 Tip: Use your business email when registering — it helps our team verify ownership faster.
Step 2: Search for Your Business
Use the search bar to look for your business name.
If it’s already listed, click the Claim Listing button on your business profile.
This lets us know you’re the verified owner or manager of that listing.
Step 3: Wait for Approval
After you click Claim Listing, our team reviews your request to ensure everything checks out.
You’ll receive an email once your claim is approved — usually within one business day.
Once approved, log in and click on your name in the top menu, then select Listings to view the businesses connected to your account.
Step 4: Update Your Listing
From your Listings dashboard:
- Click Edit next to the listing you want to update.
- Make your changes — update your description, hours, phone number, or add new images.
- Scroll all the way down and click Save Changes.

Step 5: Keep It Fresh
Your listing is your digital front door — and just like your storefront, it benefits from regular updates.
We recommend reviewing your listing every few months to:
- Update your hours for seasonal changes
- Add new photos or promotions
- Refresh your description to reflect current offerings
Staying active helps your business appear more often in local searches and keeps customers informed.
Step 6: Consider Upgrading Your Plan
Looking for more visibility? Upgrade your listing to a
Featured or Founding Partner Plan for added benefits such as:
- Spotlight placement on category pages
- Access to seasonal LocalRoots promotions
- Enhanced image gallery and analytics summary
